Hello my name is Abiola. An entrepreneur of over 18 years. I run a Promotional Gifting Firm and Oil Palm plantation. I’m interested in mentoring in Africa as I believe their is a huge gap that needs to be filled as people are looking to invest in Africa right now. I’m looking to support early stage startup founders in their set-up phase as I believe mentors can add the most value then. My interests area varies due to my vast business exposure and academic background.

I have a Masters in Financial Management and Bachelors in Economics. Besides Queensbridge and Asabi fields, I am on the Board and instrumental to the vision and strategic development of Geoscape Oil Limited and Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group. I was the first Board chairman of Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications (Gambia).

I brings my wealth of experience as a visionary Entrepreneur, Economist, Strategist and Social Policy expert on the board of these Companies. I previously worked with London Borough of Hackney Council as a Senior Manager in the low income housing sector, dealing with inequality and social issues, regarding women and youth. I ran QBPR, a training outfit for companies in the private and public sector.
I have devoted decades to voluntary, philanthropy and community service, creating mentoring programs in villages in southern Nigeria to engage and empower women and youths in commerce, encourage crowd funding for small and micro business management, while educating on establishment of cottage industry agricultural schemes etc.

I am a Member of WIMBIZ , Rising Tide Africa and Fellow of Wimboard.

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

As a mentor, the satisfaction that comes from giving back to mentees or people that need support or guidance in business cannot be measured. I will be tapping into my knowledge and experience from different sectors to assist mentees, learn faster than they would on their own.
I would like the opportunity to learn new investment ideas, by opening myself up to new perspectives from others. Authentic relationships are built with lasting partnerships, through mentoring, which adds value to the mentee and the mentor in the long run.
I will continue to build my leadership skills through mentoring, as i communicate and engage the mentee. when necessary, I will engage experts or direct the mentee as necessary to meet others in specialised fields relating to their needs. I am currently active on some boards in advisory and executive capacity and can guide mentees.
