Alex Mkwizu, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Dar es Salaam, brings a wealth of experience to the field, having actively contributed to innovation and capacity-building programs over the past three years. He has established fruitful partnerships with key organizations like GitHub, Postman, DataCamp, StartHub Africa, SheFound Africa, the University of Dar es Salaam, UNICEF – Tanzania, Restless Development Tanzania, and AIESEC in Tanzania. Currently, as an Associate Data Science Consultant at Afropavo Analytics and co-founder of SEEDE XR, Alex leverages alternative data to enable credit services for the unbanked and revolutionizes training and storytelling through immersive technologies like Virtual and Augmented Reality, integrated with Artificial Intelligence.
Alex wants to be a startup mentor because he is passionate about leveraging his extensive experience in entrepreneurship and technology to empower the next generation of innovators. Having successfully led projects that raised significant funding, secured strategic partnerships, and launched impactful initiatives like the SmartGirls In ICT program, Alex understands the challenges and opportunities in the startup ecosystem. He is driven by a desire to share his knowledge, skills, and networks to help other entrepreneurs navigate the complex landscape of starting and growing a business. By mentoring startups, Alex aims to foster innovation, encourage resilience, and contribute to building a supportive community that nurtures sustainable and scalable ventures, particularly those led by underrepresented groups.
