My name is Bimpe Olufemi, and I have been in the Financial Services sector for most of my 30-year career. In addition, I worked briefly in the Oil & Gas sector and e-commerce with some HR consultancy. My experience spans project and programme management and Operations management with a passion for technology and its enabling features for business improvement. I have worked extensively in Europe and Africa, where I developed some mentorship programmes in the workplace as a Toastmaster. I have also set up public speaking clubs and also started a mentorship programme outside of work for young adults during the pandemic, with our first mentees being young boys and girls who we coached in the art of communication and leadership.
I am creative and, for a short while, ran a graphics design outfit where I created designs for T-shirts and accessories.
I have interests in FinTech, InsurTech and HealthTech, where I am currently working on an idea that helps and supports older women.
My skills and experience are highly suited to supporting mentees in the mentorship programme. Over the last 5 years, I have built an operations division from scratch, which is now 99-staff strong. This required a multi-faceted skillset and experience to achieve the organisation’s goals.
Over the years, I have acquired a lot of skills and experience. I believe it is time to give back and leave a positive legacy.
As a single woman, I began to think about giving back some years ago and started in a small way. However, this platform can enable a scale-up with more significant and broader impacts.
I enjoy learning and believe in reverse mentorship. As a mentor, I am a beneficiary of this with some of my mentees.
I, therefore, look forward to a symbiotic mentorship programme
