BRIGHT ASIIMWE WANDERA is the founder and CEO of PLUM CAFÉ AND RESTAURANT & WAZAZI SMART FARMS in Uganda.
Bright is a Business Mentor and serial entrepreneur with interest in Retail, Hospitality and Agribusiness.
Bright is a STATISTICIAN by profession, she holds a masters in Public Health Leadership.
She has worked in the Public Health space for most of her career, she worked as Deputy Chief of party for USAID Projects under World Vision International and John Hopkins University.
For 4 years (2018 – 2022), she worked with SMEs in Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda under SNV Netherlands in the climate financing and investment ecosystem, helping them to develop bankable business plans, supporting them to set up M&E systems that aim at improving business performance and scaling.
Bright is a Board member for two Organizations in Uganda and she’s very passionate about Board governance. She’s been a Mentor with four organizations I.e. a mentor for Start-ups under the HealthTech Hub Africa in Kigali -Rwanda, SheWorks Africa in Nairobi Kenya and VC4A(Venture For Africa Capital), the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth Initiative and Darene Ventures
It’s my way of giving back to community. I am who Iam because of people who belived in me and offered to hold my hand in the entrepreneural journey.
