About

My name is Dilia, I have been involved in entrepreneurship and start-up activities for the last 19 years. I founded and managed with a team of 3 people the program “Seedbed of entrepreneurs of the UCV” at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), the oldest university in Venezuela, we mentor more than 200 entrepreneurs among undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, professors and employees. This experience of two and a half years taught me about the entrepreneurial potential hidden not only in our young people, I saw it in a wide range of ages. Being involved in supporting entrepreneurs from both Africa and Latin America is what I want to do to contribute to the development of these regions in need of economic progress. My background is in science, technology development, innovation and business.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I want to make available to entrepreneurs in Africa and Latin America my experience in the area of entrepreneurship and startup, as well as contribute to the best possible ecosystem in and between both regions. I am convinced that both local and regional ecosystems are the key to contribute in a sustainable and effective way to the economic development of these areas and consequently to improve the conditions of their population.

My background in science and my personality makes learning a permanent motivation for me, being involved with new ideas in different industries I can describe it in a phrase “I am passionate about”, so, I am looking for opportunities as an advisor to do what I am passionate about. I’m sure VC4A is that space I’m looking for.
