About

As a pioneer in ICT in secondary education in The Gambia, I developed a CD on Biology for the visual classroom inspired by Sheffield University, UK and served as a mentor to teachers in The Gambia, Ghana, Uganda, and India. I have also worked with reputable organizations, including Quantum Associates, UNESCO, and the National Assembly, training legislators, staff, and farmers on various topics.

As a serial entrepreneur, I have founded and co-founded several companies, including Oklan Resources, Oklan Best Ltd, Eagleeyes Global Trading, and Graceland Cooperative. I am also the founder of LISA BEST EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION, which supports youth and women’s development in entrepreneurship skills, health advisory, insurance, and savings.

I am drawn to the She Wins Africa program because of its commitment to bridging the funding gap for women-led startups in Africa. As someone who has experienced the challenges of accessing finance and support as a female entrepreneur, I understand the importance of creating a supportive ecosystem for women to thrive. I believe that my expertise, combined with my passion for empowering women in business, makes me an ideal mentor for this program. I am excited to contribute to the growth and success of female founders in Africa and help them overcome unique investment readiness gaps.
