About

My name is Dr. Gaofetoge Ntshadi Ganamotse, a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at the University of Botswana in the Department Management (Faculty of Business) I holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship, focusing on Business Incubation, from the University of Essex (UK); a Master Science Degree in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development from the University of Bedfordshire (UK); a Bachelors Degree (Honours) in Technical and Vocational Education from the University of Bolton (UK) and an Advanced Diploma in Cooperative Management from Moshi Cooperative College, (Tanzania).

I take an experiential learning approach to teaching of entrepreneurship assuming roles of a lecturer, coach and mentor and researcher. To this end I have adopted a practical approach to teaching entrepreneurship with a view to graduate students who not only know about entrepreneurship but who could also practice entrepreneurship. My students graduate with practice ventures that they could potentially run after the completion of their studies.

My recent interest is in infusing entrepreneurship and climate change adaptation strategies which has seen me engaging with Adelphi (Germany) for the facilitation of workshops on eco-inclusive enterprises, with a view to help companies to develop strategies for climate change adaptation.

I previously worked at the Rural Industries Promotions Companies Botswana as the Village Skills Training Programme Coordinator and later progressed to the Director of Extension Services and Business Support Director. I have also worked at the Department of Cooperatives. Also, I have served as a Country Manager for the Global Business Labs where I also practiced as a business coach. Also, I worked on a contract as a mentor for Techno Serve (Botswana) – Tokafala. I have previously volunteered as a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation and VC4A. I believe I have a lot to offer to new ventures anywhere in English-speaking Africa.

Geographic focus

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I want to be a mentor because I am soon retiring from academia and would like to do something that will be both challenging and worthwhile.
