About

Hello, I am George. Over the past decade and more, I’ve navigated various roles within the digital space. It’s been an exciting journey, marked by learning, growth, and the evolution of my entrepreneurial endeavors. In 2019, I embarked on a new venture by establishing IBG Social, initially conceived as a social media company. However, as time progressed and the landscape shifted, so did the trajectory of IBG. Today, it stands proudly as IBG Communications, a robust marketing communication entity.

Reflecting on my journey, I’ve come to appreciate the immense value of mentorship. I firmly believe that in the nascent stages of their journey, startup founders can benefit greatly from seasoned guidance and support. This belief has led me to a decision: I am eager to extend my hand to early-stage startup founders in Africa, particularly during their crucial set-up phase.

My areas of expertise and passion lie primarily in branding, social media, and the broader spectrum of marketing communications. These domains have been my playground, where I’ve honed my skills, embraced challenges, and discovered innovative approaches to engaging audiences and driving business growth. Now, I am eager to share this wealth of knowledge and experience with aspiring entrepreneurs who are embarking on their own ventures.

Branding is not just about creating a logo or choosing colors; it’s about crafting a compelling narrative that resonates with your audience. It’s about building trust, loyalty, and a strong emotional connection with your customers. Through my years of experience, I’ve learned the intricacies of brand development, from defining brand identities to executing cohesive brand strategies that leave a lasting impression.

As a mentor, I am committed to supporting early-stage startup founders in Africa, particularly in branding, social media, and marketing communications. Together, we can turn dreams into reality, ideas into action, and startups into success stories.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent

Mentoring, for me, is a deeply rewarding experience. Seeing my mentees grow, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals does bring me a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

Also, mentoring allows me to stay connected to the industry or field of my mentees. By engaging with mentees who are often younger or newer to the industry, I can stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and perspectives.
