Hello, my name is Gideon Brefo. I have successfully built two companies over the past 15 years. Hapaweb Solutions is a cloud technology company and hapaSpace an innovation hub. As the CEO of an innovation hub, I love to provide business development support for early stage startups. Many idea stage business fail because the founders lack the skills to develop their venture as a viable business. I have walked the rough journey and love to share the experiences gained with upcoming startups. I have a particular interest in tech for fashion, agriculture and the creatives.

When I began my entrepreneurial journey in 2008, it was hard to find someone that would spur me on with encouragement. All the family and friends discouraged the move and advised I stay in my corporate jobs. There was no one who would volunteer his/her time to guide me on that journey. With my co-founder, we learnt through the try and error method. Thanks to networks like AfriLabs and later the VC4A platform that gave me contacts with similar goals.
The Pan-African startup ecosystem has come far. This is the time for some of us to share our experiences with the next generation so that they do not repeat avoidable mistakes. I will be happy to offer a helping hand.
