About

Hello my name is Harliet and I have over 7 years’ experience in Marketing, sales and business development, I am currently building Think Opal a firm that specializes in consultancy and training in the above-mentioned areas mostly focusing on the East Africa Market. I’m Looking to support Early stage startups, growth stage SME’s & Social enterprises. I am open minded in my areas of interests and very keen on the impact founders and enterprises have in the society. I believe its paramount for businesses & social enterprises streamline on “who” their customers are, “how” to approach them and most importantly the problem their solving.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I believe in the spirit of helping others, no matter how small the impact may be. While the investment space has traditionally been reserved for individuals with significant financial resources, mentorship and the use of soft capital are slowly changing that narrative and spreading into a number of developing economies. A new set of investors is being inspired by mentorship and the acceptance of soft capital as a type of investment to help organizations in the start-up and growth stages gain access to knowledge and skills they otherwise couldn’t afford. I believe mentoring will help organizations and enterprises expand in a sustainable and significant way, which will lead to the creation of jobs, sustainable cities, good work, and economic progress.
