Hello, my name is Jane Onoka. I have worked with SMEs and entrepreneurs over the last 20 years with 15 of these at IFC, the World Bank Group as an advisory professional implementing international technical assistance programs in the financial sector, agribusiness, and education while applying the gender and climate lenses. I have global experience through my work at IFC but I am currently interested in Africa as it is the region where I have lived the most and have the greatest understanding of. I also believe that it is a region with the greatest potential for exciting and innovative startups. I am interested in supporting both early-stage and growth startups, particularly in agribusiness, e-commerce, and edutech in fundraising, strategy, customer development, and understanding of the operating environment. I also support startups by investing as an angel investor. My passion is to see entrepreneurial ideas grow into businesses that can create employment and bring prosperity.
I am interested in supporting entrepreneurs and founders as a mentor and also as an angel investor. Through this platform, I am hoping to make connections with other mentors and investors to help build my knowledge and expertise to better support startups and growing businesses. As an angel investor, I am hoping to grow my portfolio. My desire is to see innovative ideas turn into businesses that are creating jobs and contributing to a thriving society.
