About

I am an engineer and project manager with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, mostly in Africa and other developing countries (including Peace Corps Cameroon). I specialize in getting things done in remote and difficult locations. I’ve been involved with 3 African startups as an investor/advisor (Copia, ICE Commercial Power, and Stahili). I’m interested in important projects in Africa that work to transform lives and solve difficult problems, including FMCG, financial access, health, energy, sanitation, or anything else using innovation to improve lives.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I have a passion for Africa and the startup community there. The big problems will not be solved by NGOs, but rather by entrepreneurs brings innovation to tackle real-world challenges. Since I moved back to the US 2 years ago, I miss being connected with African startups and am looking to for ways to get connected and help them change the world.
