I am currently working at Yunus Social Business, a social impact fund, where I am handling the entire investment cycle including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, deal negotiation, and structuring, credit assessment, portfolio management, technical assistance value addition like investment readiness programs and managing external due diligence partners. I have coached investment officers I am working with and have participated in various workshops.

Prior to this, I worked at I-Dev international as an Associate, Strategy Consulting and Investment Advisory where I have gained experience in financial modeling and valuation analysis, financial and operational due diligence, end-to-end capital raise, and strategy consulting. Previously, I worked as an LGT Impact Fellow – Financial Controller at M-KOPA Solar, where I led Financial Planning and Analysis, and set up financial controls and cost control structures. In addition, I also worked in commercial banking for 10 years and gained skills in credit analysis, finance, risk management and controls, operations, and process excellence.

I am a qualified Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, have a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Global Social & Sustainable Enterprises, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology, and a certificate in impact investing in Africa from Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I am looking to provide pro-bono value-add services to businesses by sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained over the course of my career, and VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital Program is a great fit. It would be great to also be involved in a start-up board to support a start-up in its growth and impact.
