I have 20+ years of experience in banking across strategic consulting, technology and private equity. I’ve built two management consulting firms in the last 10 years, both EBITDA positive and still growing. Before that, I was delivering transformational programmes for a tech startup, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, and a PE firm. Currently based in Singapore, I spend a lot of time in Hong Kong, and have lived in the Philippines, Vietnam, London; I’ve also done business in Australia, India, Dubai, Japan. Throughout my career, I’d always looked for a strong female mentor but have never had one, perhaps because I’ve been in financial services most of my career. I hope to change this landscape, and it starts with me.
I’m particularly interested in women founded or women led start-ups. Last year, only 3% of VC funding globally went to women founders – this needs to change. By expanding female-led VC communities, highlighting successful VC funding for female businesses and confronting stereotypes, more VC funding should flow to female-founded companies.
