About

I am a finance professional passionate about driving investment growth and economic development in Africa. I currently serve as the Senior Investment Officer for Africa at the Media Development Investment Fund, responsible for managing MDIF’s debt and equity portfolio projects in Africa. I have 15 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Asset Management, and Private Wealth Investment Management, working in both primary and secondary markets across sub-Saharan Africa.

My interests and focus areas include investment readiness, strategic planning, and financial sustainability. In my day to day work I support portfolio companies that I oversee in the Africa and MENA region, to help them build resilient business models, secure funding, and scale their operations. I have a strong focus on post-investment support, ensuring that portfolio companies not only attract investment but also effectively manage and utilize those resources to achieve sustainable growth.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up

I mentor because I believe in the transformative power of guidance and support in unlocking the potential of entrepreneurs and startups. Having benefited from mentorship myself, I understand the profound impact it can have on personal and professional growth. By mentoring, I aim to give back to the startup ecosystem, supporting emerging entrepreneurs as they navigate their journeys.

I am also passionate about strengthening the African startup and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience in investment readiness, strategic planning, and financial sustainability to help startups build resilient business models and secure funding.

Lastly, as an Investment Officer, mentorship affords me the opportunity to connect with potential future investees.

Mentoring also allows me to stay engaged with new industries and innovative business models, fostering continuous learning and keeping me updated on the latest trends. Additionally, it expands my professional network and creates opportunities for collaboration and growth, both for myself and the organizations I represent.

Ultimately, I mentor to leave a lasting impact, helping entrepreneurs achieve their full potential and contribute positively to their communities and industries.
