About

Hello my name is Lotanna and I have been working in the digital training sector for about 8 years, during which under the Google Digital Skill for Africa Program, a program powered and sponsored by Google, I have trained approximately 58,000 SMEs in digital skills in Nigeria alone. My efforts have helped around 14,000+ of these businesses establish a presence on Google Search and Maps, enhancing their visibility and accessibility. The success of the program further gave me the opportunity to partly design and implement the Google Hustle Academy Program, another program powered and sponsored by Google and presented to SMEs in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. The success recorded in managing the Google Hustle Academy and training 10,000+ SMEs in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, attracted the likes of USAID who plugged into the program as a way of supporting the Kenyan SME community.

I am interested in supporting startups, mature organisations or individuals in Africa who are ambitious and seek to grow beyond their current position. My strengths lie in project management, where I excel in planning and executing projects efficiently. I am adept at budgeting, ensuring optimal resource allocation and financial management. I have extensive experience with Google tools, which I utilize for digital advertising to help businesses reach their target audiences effectively. Additionally, my expertise extends to video editing and social media management, skills that are crucial for crafting engaging content and managing online presence. These areas of interest and expertise have been integral to my work in empowering businesses to thrive in the digital landscape.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

A lot of ideas are not well thought about to enable them to grow especially in the ever competitive digital world also, a lot of startups do not have that strong foundation to keep them growing against all odds. I love to see and support startups and businesses to grow by simply following industry and global standards. Becoming a mentor allow me to contribute to the startup ecosystem, learn about industries and new businesses, scout new opportunities as well as connect to these opportunities.
