I am interested in mentoring because I have personally experienced the challenges of building and sustaining a business from the ground up, often with limited resources, uncertainty, and significant personal adversity. As a founder and CEO, my journey has shown me that many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) do not fail due to lack of potential, but because of limited access to guidance, networks, and structured support. I am committed to helping bridge that gap by sharing practical knowledge, lived experience, and actionable strategies that can help entrepreneurs build resilient and compliant businesses.
Since 2021, I have served as a mentor with Deloitte Asia, which has further strengthened my passion for structured mentorship and impact-driven leadership. I am especially motivated by the opportunity to support African SMEs, as I believe they are the backbone of sustainable economic growth and job creation on the continent.
My key focus areas include SME development, business compliance and regulatory support (particularly within the South African context), branding and marketing strategy, business structuring, and operational efficiency. I also focus on empowering women-led enterprises, promoting disability inclusion in business, and supporting social entrepreneurs who aim to create both profit and purpose-driven impact.
Through mentoring, I aim to help entrepreneurs build not only viable businesses, but sustainable legacies that can grow beyond the founder.
I am interested in mentoring because I want to actively give back to the startup ecosystem and support entrepreneurs who are building and scaling new businesses. Having experienced the realities of building ventures myself, I understand the importance of guidance, access to networks, and practical support in navigating early-stage and growth challenges. Mentorship allows me to contribute meaningfully by sharing experience while also helping founders avoid common pitfalls and accelerate their progress.
Beyond mentoring, I am also motivated by the opportunity to stay closely connected to emerging industries and innovative business models. I enjoy learning about new sectors, understanding evolving market trends, and engaging with founders who are solving real-world problems in creative ways. This continuous exposure keeps me sharp and broadens my perspective as an entrepreneur and business leader.
I am also actively looking to identify new investment opportunities and potential partnerships within the startup ecosystem. Engaging with early and growth-stage businesses allows me to assess promising ventures and consider how I can add value not only through capital, but also through strategic support.
In addition, I am interested in opportunities to serve in advisory roles or on boards where I can contribute governance, strategic direction, and operational insight. These roles align with my desire to help organizations scale sustainably while strengthening my own leadership experience.
Ultimately, I am looking to build meaningful connections with entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem enablers—both for my own growth and for the organizations I represent—while contributing to a stronger, more inclusive startup landscape.
