About

I have been working in the development field for more than 6 years with a demonstrated history in managing international and national funded projects that seek gender equity, economic & social development for women, children, youth, entrepreneurs, and migrants.

I currently work with the World Bank as an E-commerce Advisor and mentor for women business owners in collaboration with Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) in Egypt. I work on preparing and running mentoring sessions with matched SMEs, and provide follow up support. In addition, provide e-commerce support to women owned businesses and startups to upskill their technical knowledge to enter new markets, increase sales and revenue. Also, I create a development plan for the startups to increase sales using various e-commerce platforms, maintain communication with the programme leads, and complete pre/during/post assessment forms.

Moreover, I am a business mentor for startups with The United States Agency for International Development (USAID). I work on providing guidance, advice, feedback, and support to the mentee. Also, I conduct assessments and provide development plans for startups, empower women led businesses and startups to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future.

I have managed the Women Economic Empowerment project funded by US DFC for almost 4 years to build the capacity of women business owners in Upper Egypt. I have created a toolkit to help women monitor their finances and understand how they can manage their business. I have trained more than 50 women entrepreneurs on the toolkit. I managed over 200 workshops in various governorates around Egypt, where 4000 women business owners were trained on financial literacy, banking knowledge, advanced financial management, feasibility study, and digital marketing. Also, I worked on monitoring and evaluation of Women in Business Capacity Building Project.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I have mentored 20+ women owned businesses in different sectors (arts and crafts, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, clothing..etc). I want to support more women and startups to boost their business growth. In addition, I want to widen my network of experts and build partnerships with them to create better opportunities in the ecosystem.
