About

I have operated on both sides of the venture equation: as a founder who scaled a D2C business from inception to $5M+ in revenue across Morocco and the United States, culminating in a successful exit in 2023; and as a senior operator now leading the venture pipeline at UM6P–Africa Business School, overseeing the progression from research-stage ideation to pre-seed capital deployment.

Across these roles, a consistent pattern emerges: outcomes are not primarily constrained by ideas or markets, but by the caliber of guidance and decision-making at critical inflection points. My trajectory benefited from that level of support. Mentorship is a deliberate extension of that experience.

I currently mentor through various organizations in Morocco, West Africa, and Middle-east, focusing on high-leverage interventions that materially shift founder trajectories.

Core areas of contribution:

Founder-led scaling in consumer and digital
End-to-end execution across brand, product, supply chain, and team development, with direct experience navigating Morocco-to-US and MENA-to-international expansion dynamics.

Fundraising and capital strategy
Pre-seed fundraising at a $3M valuation with CDG Invest, alongside advisory exposure to $20M+ raised across portfolio companies. Emphasis on investor narrative architecture, capital strategy, valuation discipline, and transaction execution.

Research-to-market translation
Structuring the commercialization of deeptech and applied research originating from UM6P. Focus on identifying viable entry wedges and aligning technology with real, monetizable demand.

Pan-African and MENA market entry
Operational exposure across Casablanca, Dubai, Paris, and London, with a differentiated understanding of which go-to-market strategies are transferable and which require localized redesign.

Engagement focus: founders at pre-seed to Series A, building for African and MENA markets, and operating with a high tolerance for direct, performance-oriented feedback.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up

I mentor to replicate the leverage I had at critical moments. The difference in outcomes is driven by the quality of guidance at inflection points—positioning, hiring, capital, and go-to-market—not by the idea itself.

My contribution is pragmatic and execution-focused. I help founders make sharper decisions on what matters now: tightening the value proposition, sequencing growth, structuring early teams, and aligning capital strategy with actual milestones. I also benefit from continuous exposure to new models and markets, which sharpens my own judgment.

The objective is not advisory for its own sake; it is to accelerate time-to-signal and reduce avoidable mistakes for founders building in African and MENA contexts.
