About

Entrepreneurship has taught me that success is rarely about having the perfect idea. It is about perseverance, adaptability, and the courage to keep moving forward despite setbacks. Throughout my career in healthcare leadership and as the founder of MyAfya Africa, I have had to make difficult decisions, pivot strategies, build teams, secure partnerships, and lead through uncertainty. These experiences have given me practical lessons that I believe can help other entrepreneurs accelerate their growth.

I am interested in mentoring because I believe experienced founders have a responsibility to make the path easier for those coming behind them. Many entrepreneurs struggle in isolation, not because they lack potential, but because they lack access to guidance, networks, and honest conversations. I want to be the kind of mentor who asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, and helps founders think strategically rather than simply providing answers.

My interests lie in business strategy, startup growth, leadership development, innovation, partnership building, and creating sustainable business models. I am particularly passionate about entrepreneurs building solutions that improve people’s lives, especially in healthcare, mental wellness, education, and social impact. I also enjoy helping founders strengthen their leadership capacity, communicate their vision effectively, and build organizations that can grow beyond their founders.

For me, mentorship is about empowering entrepreneurs to build resilient businesses, confident leadership, and meaningful impact. Seeing founders overcome challenges, unlock opportunities, and create lasting value for their communities is one of the most rewarding ways I can contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I chose these motivations because I believe mentorship is built on mutual value and meaningful relationships. I want to give back to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by sharing the lessons I’ve learned through building and scaling purpose-driven ventures. I also enjoy learning from founders who are solving emerging challenges with fresh perspectives and innovative business models.

Mentorship is an excellent way to build authentic connections with entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem partners who are committed to creating sustainable impact. Over time, I also hope these relationships may lead to opportunities to serve as a strategic advisor or board member, where I can contribute more deeply to organizational growth and governance.

Ultimately, I see mentorship as an opportunity to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem while continuously learning, expanding my network, and helping founders build resilient, high-impact businesses.
