I am interested in mentoring because I have seen firsthand how guidance, practical knowledge, and encouragement can help individuals and organizations navigate complex sustainability and development challenges. Through my work in agribusiness, ESG, and climate-focused initiatives, I have consistently supported farmers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in understanding and adopting sustainable practices. These experiences have shown me the value of mentorship in building capacity, confidence, and long-term impact.
My interests and focus areas include sustainability, climate action, carbon markets, ESG compliance, and inclusive economic development. With over eight years of experience in agribusiness finance and sustainability at Equity Bank Rwanda PLC, I have trained farmers and SMEs on environmental and social governance, climate-smart agriculture, carbon credit programs, and responsible resource management. In my current role as a Relationship Manager, I continue to support micro-entrepreneurs and small agricultural businesses through advisory services, financial literacy, and guidance on sustainable and carbon-conscious business operations.
Additionally, my experience mentoring SMEs on circular economy principles through MDF Global and GIZ Rwanda strengthened my ability to support enterprises in adopting sustainable business models and improving resource efficiency. As a mentor, I aim to share practical insights, provide constructive feedback, and support mentees in aligning their goals with sustainable development principles while empowering them to make informed, independent decisions.
I mentor because I want to give back to the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem while continuing to learn and grow. Through my professional experience working closely with entrepreneurs and small businesses, I have seen how the right guidance at the right time can help founders overcome challenges, refine their ideas, and build more resilient ventures. Mentorship allows me to share practical insights while supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
I am also motivated by the opportunity to learn about new industries, innovative business models, and emerging opportunities. Engaging with startups helps me stay exposed to fresh thinking and evolving markets, while allowing me to identify promising ventures for potential investment. In addition, mentoring enables me to build meaningful connections and expand my professional network.
I am interested in scouting opportunities to engage more deeply with high-potential startups, whether as an advisor, board member, or investor. Overall, mentorship creates a mutually beneficial exchange where founders gain support and perspective, and I gain insight, relationships, and opportunities to contribute to sustainable and impactful businesses.
