Hi, I am Tabi Okorn-Tabi.
I have been an active player in the startup ecosystem in Nigeria and in Mauritius for the past 10 years and 5 years respectively. Over the years, I have built a career in business development and also led teams to develop products for clients in the health, manufacturing, aviation and distribution sectors.
I strongly believe in the young people of the African continent and the promise of birthing leading economies in Africa through visionary, and intentional entrepreneurship. My interests are in Manufacturing, agriculture, e-health and fintech.
Borrowing the words of Sir Isaac Newton, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” I have gotten thus far in my career not only due to hard work and dedication but also because of the advice from my mentors and seniors in the field. This motivates me to pay it forward to those who might be at an earlier stage of their journey.
Furthermore, I have made several mistakes in business that I would have avoided if I had more experience within my team when I started. I look forward to the opportunity of serving on the board of startups to contribute my quoter in guiding their growth and strategies.
I believe that if piloted and managed efficiently and effectively, startups have the potential to disrupt industries and become a significant force in the sectors they operate in. Therefore, mentoring new businesses is also an opportunity to connect and network with the future business leaders of the continent.
