Taiye Suleiman

My name is Taiye and I am a Software Engineer based in Abuja, Nigeria, with over five years of experience building full-stack web and mobile applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. I also founded Skillverse Hub, a digital solutions company helping Nigerian businesses build their online presence through websites, tech training, and business registration support.
I am interested in mentoring because I have seen firsthand how much a single conversation with the right person can change the direction of someone’s journey. When I started out, I had to figure out most things alone: the tech, the career decisions, and the business side. I do not want early-stage founders and developers in Africa to waste years on problems that a good mentor could help them solve in weeks.
I have already mentored over 100 students across Nigeria through TechGen Africa and SAP Africa Code Week and 50+ engineers through Tunga’s Academy global program. Mentoring is not new to me; it is something I genuinely enjoy and believe in deeply.
My focus areas are early-stage tech startups, full-stack product development, building MVPs on lean budgets, digital presence and go-to-market strategy, and growing sustainable tech businesses in Nigeria and across Africa. I am particularly excited about the Nigerian and broader African startup ecosystem I believe we are at an inflection point and the right support at the right time can produce world-class companies from this continent.

I want to give back because I built my career in Nigeria largely without structured mentorship. I know how much time and energy founders waste solving problems that an experienced guide could help them navigate faster. Having taught 100+ students and mentored 50+ engineers, giving back is already part of who I am.
I also genuinely enjoy learning about new industries and business models. Every startup I engage with teaches me something I can apply to my own work and to Skillverse Hub.
Finally, I am building my network intentionally; connecting with founders, investors, and operators across Africa aligns with my goal of growing Skillverse Hub and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
