About

My professional background sits at the intersection of governance, regulation, and capital. As Senior Legal Counsel at a multi-jurisdictional African fintech, I support boards, executives, and shareholders on regulatory strategy, governance design, and fundraising-related matters.

I have previously mentored early-stage entrepreneurs, where I supported founders on governance fundamentals, regulatory considerations, and structuring for growth. That experience reinforced my interest in mentorship that is practical, founder-centric, and execution-focused rather than theoretical.

My key focus areas as a mentor include:
– Governance and decision-making for scale
– Investor readiness and managing investor expectations
– Regulatory awareness without slowing innovation
– Building resilient operating structures in emerging markets

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I’m interested in mentoring because I’ve seen firsthand how early, practical guidance can materially change a founder’s trajectory. Many promising startups don’t fail because of weak ideas, but because of gaps in governance, regulatory awareness, and investor readiness that only surface when it’s already costly to fix them. Mentoring allows me to help founders anticipate those challenges early and build with intention.

I’m particularly motivated to support founders who are ambitious about scale but want to build sustainably, with clarity, discipline, and long-term value creation in mind.
