About

Over the past six years, I’ve worked at the intersection of venture building, fundraising, and market entry across multiple African markets. From co-founding a legaltech startup, I’ve seen firsthand both the potential and the pitfalls founders face on the continent.
I’m interested in mentoring at VC4A because too many strong African founders struggle not for lack of ideas, but for lack of access to the right information, capital, and networks. I want to help close that gap. As an operator, I bring practical, on-the-ground experience of taking products from MVP to scale. As a strategist and consultant, I bring a structured approach to due diligence, risk assessment, and growth planning across 15+ African markets.
My focus areas are:

1. Fundraising and investor readiness – helping founders sharpen their narrative, understand deal mechanics, and structure rounds that position them for long-term success.
2. Growth and go-to-market strategy – designing scalable, data-informed strategies that respect local nuances rather than copy-pasting global playbooks.
3. Partnerships and ecosystem building – identifying and structuring strategic partnerships that unlock distribution, credibility, and capital.

I’m particularly interested in impact-driven businesses that are solving real, systemic problems and are ready to move from experimentation to disciplined growth. Through VC4A, I hope to be a sounding board, challenger, and advocate for founders who are building Africa’s next generation of category-defining companies.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I am passionate about giving back to the startup ecosystem and supporting emerging entrepreneurs because I have personally benefited from the guidance of mentors, peers, and ecosystem builders along my own journey. Mentoring allows me to share the lessons, networks, and insights I’ve gained, helping founders avoid common pitfalls, accelerate their progress, and build more resilient businesses.

I love learning about different industries and new startups. Working with founders across sectors exposes me to innovative ideas, business models, and market trends. Mentorship is a two-way street: while I provide guidance, I deepen my understanding of emerging trends, customer needs, and innovation patterns across African markets.

I am eager to identify new opportunities to serve as an advisor or secure a position on a board. Building long-term, value-driven relationships with high-potential ventures excites me. Mentoring offers a front-row seat to how founders think and execute, helping me recognize where my strategic, fundraising, and governance expertise can contribute in a more formal capacity.

Connecting with new people—whether for myself or the organizations I represent—is also a priority. The startup ecosystem thrives on trust and strong networks. Through mentoring, I can introduce founders to investors, partners, and experts, while also fostering relationships that benefit my work and the organizations I am part of, creating a web of mutually beneficial collaboration.

I strongly agree with the key takeaway from the Third Wave book by Steve Chase; he states that partnerships are the prerequisite for success; if you want to go far, you must go together. Ultimately, I believe Africa’s growth depends on innovative businesses led by capable founders. Contributing to their journeys—by challenging assumptions, refining strategies, or simply listening—resonates deeply with my personal mission to support ventures and investors shaping the continent’s future.
