About

My professional background includes the social impact sector across Canada (government), Sierra Leone & Nigeria (non-profit) and Continental Africa (social enterprise).

Focally, my interest has been on digital health & workforce development that enables people to optimize their health, develop & apply their skillsets as a contribution to society.

Academically, I am trained in communications, and humanitarian studies. Professionally, I’ve held roles in tech driven organizations across communication, knowledge translation, project management, chief of staff, membership lead, operations lead, and general manager.

Further, I’ve worked remotely since 2018 which provides added experience around how to connect and engage in the future of work at the employee and the systems level.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent

1. The mentorship experience is a great way to learn about businesses that are well positioned for investment opportunities.

2. Through the VC4A mentorship process, there is massive exposure to companies from all walks of life and sectors. Especially given my expertise area (consulting), there are commonalities & nuances that all businesses experience. This experience offers a chance to learn first hand.

3. I’m invested and intentional about raising up entrepreneurs and people who are doing big and bold things in Africa. I’ve previously been a mentor with She Leads Africa’s HGCP in 2021, and I’ve been a mentor with the African Leadership Group’s Young Entrepreneur Program in 2022.

4. Finally, the learning opportunities provided by connecting with different businesses will enable me to further refine my own entrepreneurial pursuits.
