Ben Ersing

My day job is with a U.S.-based digital health venture capital fund (Series A – Series C). Previously I worked in strategy / corporate development and corporate venture capital at a publicly traded Fortune 10 company with $250B+ in revenue. Prior to that I worked in strategy consulting and transaction advisory services at a large global consulting firm (includes operations across Africa).

I have been personally investing into startups at the seed / pre-seed stage since 2010, have made 40+ investments to date, several of which are into startups based in Africa.

Mentoring and coaching founders is the most enjoyable part of both my day job, and the personal investments I have made.

My primary areas of focus healthcare, product and growth strategy, marketing and fundraising / business plan development.

I used to live in Kenya and work across Africa with investors and startups. At this stage in my life I am no longer able to do so full-time. By giving back to the startup ecosystem via mentorship, I am able to continue supporting and being involved in the continent’s ecosystem despite not being able to live there at the moment.
