About

Hello, my name is Elvis and I am a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) practitioner working at the intersection of innovation, market systems and impact measurement. Over the past several years, I have supported growth-stage ventures and multi-country programmes to design results frameworks, define impact metrics, and build practical data systems that inform strategic decisions.

I am particularly interested in mentoring early-stage innovators because many strong solutions struggle to clearly articulate and evidence their impact. I believe mentors add the most value during the set-up and early growth phase by helping founders clarify their Theory of Change, define measurable outcomes, and establish lean but credible performance tracking systems that strengthen investor readiness and scalability.

I have previously been engaged as a MEL consultant to support companies funded through VC4, including IRIBA Water Group and eFiche. In these roles, I worked with leadership teams to refine impact metrics, align operational data with growth strategy, and strengthen reporting for funders and stakeholders. This experience gives me a practical understanding of the expectations and realities that VC-backed startups face.

My focus areas include impact measurement for jobs and livelihoods, climate and resilience metrics, inclusive business models, agriculture and agri-tech, water and WASH solutions, and digital platforms that improve service delivery. I am particularly committed to supporting African startups scale with credible, defensible evidence of impact.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up

I am motivated to mentor because I believe strong ecosystems are built when experienced practitioners actively support early-stage founders. I have worked closely with startups to define impact metrics, strengthen performance tracking, and improve investor reporting, and I have seen firsthand how timely guidance can significantly shape a company’s trajectory. Giving back to emerging entrepreneurs is therefore both a professional responsibility and a personal commitment.

I am also interested in mentoring because it provides exposure to new industries and evolving business models. Working with innovators allows me to stay close to emerging trends in technology, climate solutions, inclusive finance, and service delivery models across African markets.

Finally, while my primary motivation is ecosystem support, mentoring naturally creates visibility into promising ventures. As someone who works at the intersection of impact measurement and growth strategy, I am interested in identifying ventures with strong fundamentals and credible impact pathways that may present future investment opportunities.
