About

I am a MBA qualified, experienced and flexible international business, energy and sustainability consultant with 45+ years of work experience in international industry and commerce. I am always looking for new opportunities to experience diverse international roles whilst making a positive proactive contribution to management and development.
I have a wide range of business experience – I qualified in the UK as a Mechanical Engineer and started work in civils! I then moved to a decade in industrial engineering and energy consultancy. This was followed by a move into sales and marketing then worked in Brazil and Egypt as a market analysis. Returning to the UK I then moved closer to computing as a business analyst. My final post was as a Market Development Manager.
In 1998 I started my own consultancy/contracting business in which I used my skills previously gained. This has been an ongoing concern for over 20 years. In this role I have worked with many companies internationally. Since living in Africa I have worked with companies in Malawi, South Africa Tanzania and Uganda and working on developing new relationships in Kenya and Rwanda.
Over the last six years I have worked with a cross-section of company types – ceramics, textiles, retail, farming, transport, construction, finance, health, education, technology and property.

Mentorship motivation

  • I am looking for new investments
  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat
  • Other

I have been extremely lucky in my working life and I wish to extend my social responsibility commitments and create opportunity for others, both old and new. I have previously worked with the Grow Movement and developed businesses in Malawi. At the same time, when finance permits I have invested in companies that I have mentored and as a founder of the Staffordshire Engineering Society continue to be interested in commerce and industry. Where these interest lead is a fascination in itself.
