Gill Balcaen

Hi, I am Gill, Belgian who moved to Nairobi in 2023. I have worked in different roles in Tech startups and scale-ups with experience ranging from Strategy, Management, B2B Sales and Operations all the way to IP and Contract Negotiations, Talent Headhunting, Digital Project and Product Management, and Grant Writing. Over the years I have raised close to €10M, grown my first business unit to €1.2M recuring revenue and worked with world class AI researchers (specifically on Reinforcement Learning and Multi Agent Systems).

I am most interested in impact companies, especially climate or poverty related. In developing markets, the latter stretches to anything that creates jobs.

I want entrepreneurs to succeed and help them navigate the many challenges they run in to on their journey to build a thriving company.
And I want to spend my time and efforts there where most impact can be made in terms of climate and poverty.
