Hello, my name is Dr Irene Ubiawhe-Akpofure. I’m the founder and CEO of YLG Limited. I have over 20 years of experience delivering training & development programs to both the public and private sector customers in the United Kingdom. I’m a family business owner with my son as a successor. In my pursuit to know more about succession in Black African family businesses in the UK, I developed and conducted a study titled: Succession Experiences of the Second Generation within Black African Family Businesses in the United Kingdom: A Narrative Inquiry. I successfully defended my PhD research in June 2021.
I’m keen to support mature small businesses and early-stage start-up business owners in Africa. My areas of interest are Business Start-ups, leadership, recruitment, and coaching in the public and private sector service industry, and to unlock the full potential of entrepreneurs in Africa.
