Looking back, several types of support would have been immensely helpful as I started and advanced in my career. Access to experienced mentors would have provided invaluable guidance and encouragement, helping me navigate challenges and make informed decisions. Networking opportunities and building a strong professional network would have broadened my horizons and opened up potential career opportunities. Continuous learning resources, such as workshops and certifications, would have kept me updated with the latest industry trends and skills. Financial assistance through scholarships and grants would have alleviated financial pressures, allowing me to focus on career growth. An inclusive work environment that promotes diversity and gender equality would have created a more conducive atmosphere for professional development. Additionally, being part of peer support groups with like-minded women facing similar challenges would have provided emotional support and practical advice. Structured career development programs offering clear advancement pathways and regular feedback would have also been beneficial. These types of support systems are what I am passionate about creating and providing for other women in tech today.
I can commit to dedicating 4-6 hours per week. This time will be allocated to one-on-one mentoring sessions, preparing resources, providing feedback, and participating in any program-related activities or meetings. I am committed to ensuring that my mentee receives consistent and valuable support throughout the duration of the program.
