Karim Morsli

My name is Karim Morsli. I have over 20 years of entrepreneurship experience, of which half has been starting successful companies in West and East Africa countries. I am very interested in mentoring companies in the early stages of their journeys, with a particular interest in industries such as ICT, telecommunications, energy (including renewables) and automotive.
Although I am based in the Washington DC area in the US, I am able to provide very contextual support through remote assistance (video based), as well as travel to the region for longer sessions of support. I provide a unique perspective for having successfully started companies in both Ghana and the United States.

I was very fortunate to have evolved professionally the way I did, operating in 2 very different markets and learning sometimes with great difficulty and adversity what works and what doesn’t, all the while being sensitive to the environment in which I operated. Basically what works in the US doesn’t necessarily work in an African context, and vice versa.
When I started out in my entrepreneurship career in West Africa, I wish I could have had access to such resources as VC4a. I feel honored to be able to help out at this point in my career.
