About

Interested in interesting businesses, and supporting the visionaries that lead them.

Hi! I am an independent strategy consultant and business school lecturer with 14+ years of experience working with senior leaders to redefine, grow and transform their businesses. Originally from the UK, I’ve lived in South Africa for 10 years and have worked in 10 different African countries. From an industry perspective, I am predominantly focused on healthcare (delivery, pharma and healthtech), manufacturing, and automotive. I am open to mentoring founders from other industries. Key technical strengths are in growth strategy, market entry, commercial due diligence, and coaching.
Alongside my consulting work, I lecture at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business for the MBA, PGDip and MiM programmes.

I am looking to play a mentoring role for founders with impactful ideas. To be an effective mentor to you, I will be looking for three things: that we can connect on a personal level, that you can clearly articulate your ambition (even if the precise means to get there is still a little fuzzy), and that I believe I have the capacity and skills to play a meaningful role.

Note that I am not always in Johannesburg therefore most meetings will be online. If I decline your request, please do not take it personally, it is highly likely to be a capacity constraint.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

After 14 years of consulting for predominantly executive level in large organisations, I’ve grown a little tired of corporate dysfunction and inaction. I moved to Africa 10 years ago with the belief that great things were going to happen here. I want to apply what I’ve learnt in my consulting work to support African founders that will do those great things.
