About

13 years ago, I was a founder who struggled to figure out everything on my own. From market research to funding to GTM strategies. Where resources exist, they are tailored to Silicon Valley, not emerging markets, which makes them impractical. While it is grounding to experience this, it is also nerve-wracking and can discourage any passionate entrepreneur building something worthwhile. Passion alone is not enough to continue on the founder path.
13 years later, with a combined experience across founding businesses and the private sector, I’m leading reThink Strategy to help startups and SMEs with tailored GTM strategies unique to their market situations.
As someone who has built a career across GTM roles, I want to help other founders overcome this gap. Mentorship gives me the chance to share those lessons, help founders avoid common pitfalls, and act as a thought partner as they make key strategic decisions
Fintech is a success in the African tech ecosystem today because the GTM playbook has been cracked and proven successful. However, there are several other industries in need of local solutions that are being ignored by founders, given the absence of GTM and proven success. I want to help bridge this.
I have ongoing mentorship engagements with FoundersBoost Accelerator, Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Centre, and the Michigan Centre for Entrepreneurship.
I can help founders:
– Sharpen their end-to-end go-to-market strategies and execution tailored to the unique needs of their region and country to accelerate customer acquisition to ensure they’re making returns for investors.
– Provide growth strategies for market expansion to growth stage and mature businesses.
– Develop a unique pricing and revenue model strategy relevant to their market and customers’ purchasing power.
– Develop lean marketing approaches that deliver impact on limited budgets.
– Avoid common pitfalls by drawing on lessons learned from advising and working alongside startups in similar contexts.

Mentorship motivation

  • I like to learn about industries and new businesses
  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

Emerging economies are the future, and I want to be part of the journey towards their actualisation. Mentoring allows me to pass on my gained skills to founders who are on the frontlines of shaping the future.
