Samba Nixon Otieno-Omumbo

Hello my name is Samba and I’ve been running Business Development Services for the past 21 years. I’m interested in meeting entrepreneurs in Africa as I believe Africa is the most exciting startup space in the globe right now given its young and vibrant population.

I am interested in Business Mentoring because I believe SMEs are the backbone of economic growth, job creation, and community development in Africa. Many SMEs in Africa have great potential but face challenges such as limited resources, emerging competition, evolving market dynamics, and gaps in strategic planning.

My interests and focus areas lie in business strategy, operations, customer experience, financial discipline, and digital transformation. I’m looking to support early stage startup founders in their set-up phase. My interests are in Smart Agriprenuership, Renewable Energy and Retail Services.

My motivation for mentorship comes from my genuine desire to help others grow, make better decisions, and reach their full potential. I have seen firsthand how guidance, encouragement, and shared experience can transform someone’s confidence and outlook. Mentorship allows me to contribute meaningfully by offering clarity, perspective, and practical support to businesses navigating challenges in Africa.

I am driven by the belief that when people are empowered with the right knowledge and mindset, they become more capable, resilient, and successful. SME Mentoring gives me the opportunity to create that positive impact while continuing to learn and grow alongside those I support.
