About

Noah Walakira is a founder and CEO of Namirembe Sweater Makers and Namirembe Uniforms and Garments. At 16 years, Noah started his textile business making and supplying sweaters and uniforms to schools in Uganda. His business has grown to supply sweaters and Uniforms to over 80 partner schools and companies with more customers from South Sudan, Rwanda and Tanzania. Noah is a graduate in social sciences at African Leadership University.

For his entrepreneurship work, Noah has received several awards such as the Anzisha Prize, Mulwana innovation award, Global schools entrepreneurship award, The Magnus Magnusson award from Glasgow Caledonian University given to students with ventures impacting communities. His success story has also been shared on CNN’s African Start-up, New Vision, Daily Monitor, Africa Raising, among other media platforms.

Noah has a big vision of using textile to solve Africa’s problem of unemployment by starting up a mega factory producing high-end quality garments in Uganda and across several countries on the continent.
