Between 2013 – 2021, I started two businesses, Buqisi-Ruux, an African inspired footwear brand whose goal was to change the narrative of African women in the media and KweNu Juice & Salad Bar which encouraged people to be the best version of themselves.
As the founder and business development manager of these two startups, I wore many hats including building market entry strategies, talent acquisition, financial planning, marketing and selling strategies, preparing pitches for raising capital, building networks and partnerships to name but a few.
In the last two years, I have supported two start-ups in Uganda and Kenya as a business & brand development manager.
My areas of interest and expertise include business and brand development, new market entry strategies, customer acquisition and, marketing and selling strategies.
I strongly believe that the future of our countries and people on the continent lie in the hands of the startup & SME ecosystem. Startups are developing technology that is inclusive, from the agriculture sector to financial service sector, creating market access for small holder farmers thus contributing directly to food security on the demand side and income on the supply side.
Because of this, I want to be part of and contribute towards the ecosystem for the future of our plant and people.
