About

Hello my name is Osita and I am a startup lawyer and entrepreneur. I have been supporting startups for the past 4 years through my work at Blackcrest law that I co-founded with two other senior lawyers. Blackcrest Law firm was listed in the VC4Africa 2023 venture deal book for our role as advisory attorney for Winich farm’s $3 million sales round.

I am very interested in the African startup ecosystem and desire to volunteer my time to mentor young founders who will go on to build the future of Africa’s development.

I am interested in supporting early stage and growth phase founders building Fintech, e-commerce, Agritech and Health tech startups in Africa.

Mentorship motivation

  • I want to give back to the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurs coming up
  • I want to make new connections for myself and/or the organization I represent
  • I want to scout for new opportunities in engaging as an advisor or for a board seat

I worked in two startups before focusing full time on my law firm Blackcrest. Blackcrest law firm is focused on providing legal support to startups of all stages in Africa.

I faced multiple challenges as a founder and decided to create a solution to support founders.

Our services at Blackcrest take the unique founder situation into consideration. We make payment flexible and focus on ensuring the startups are structured in a way that makes it easy for them to pass investor due dilligence enquiry. Startups who are not structured properly are not investment worthy to most VCs.

In my role as a mentor with VC4A I desire to share compliance tips with founders, help them anticipate regulatory changes that might impact their business and sign better deals with their suppliers, investors and partners.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have about my role at Blackcrest and how I can be of help to the VC4A founders community
