I am a Cameroonian-born technology entrepreneur, operator and investor based in Toronto, Canada, with fifteen years building software ventures, scaling global media, and advising governments on digital transformation across four continents and 36 African countries. I served as a Digital Africa Connector, leading the startup-development programme across East and Central Africa including the DRC, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi — and co-organising the African Early Investor Summit (2021 and 2022). That work makes joining the Digital Africa Mentor Pool a natural continuation of a mission I care deeply about: helping African founders build durable, investment-ready ventures. As Founder and CEO of Wouessi Inc., a digital transformation, software and AI house serving enterprise and government clients, I work hands-on with product, cloud, data engineering and AI/LLM integration. As an angel investor and mentor, I have vetted, mentored and deployed over US$2.5M across 45+ African startups, and I was named among the Top 25 African Startup Ecosystem Builders. Earlier, I built a global media network to 9.7M monthly users and US$11M in annual revenue, and I advise three sitting African Heads of State on digital strategy and ecosystem development. My focus areas are FinTech, AgriTech, Big Data/AI, HRTech and EdTech, fundraising readiness, product and go-to-market strategy, building cross-border teams, and operational scaling. I mentor in both French and English. I am motivated by giving back to the founders coming up behind me, and I look forward to supporting Digital Africa’s portfolio companies.
Having been mentored and supported earlier in my own journey, I see mentoring as the most direct way to give back to the African startup ecosystem. As a Digital Africa Connector across East and Central Africa and a mentor to 45+ founders, I have seen how a few focused conversations on fundraising readiness, product strategy, go-to-market and team building can change a venture’s trajectory. I want to put fifteen years of operating, investing and digital transformation experience at the service of Digital Africa’s portfolio founders, help them become investment-ready, and connect them with the right people in my cross-border network across Canada, the US, Europe and Africa.
