Ryham Ragab

I am an Egyptian lawyer with over eighteen years of work experience ranging between positions in law firms in Egypt, Germany, the USA, France and the UK, and in-house positions with two of the biggest family-owned conglomerates in Egypt. I am a Tiye Investor.
Currently, I have returned to my private legal practice where I provide both operational and strategic legal assistance to clients on corporate, banking, arbitration and litigation matters. My negotiation skills are one of my fortes. I recently sat as the presiding arbitrator on a three female panel of arbitrators in an international commercial arbitration in Cairo.
Spending close to five years serving as Group General Counsel for Samcrete Engineering Investments S.A.E. and Alkan Holding S.A.E. have shown my leadership skills in reaching such challenging positions at a young age. My strategic thinking, hard work and determination coupled with a hands-on approach for carrying out the responsibilities attached to these positions have gained me the trust of the shareholders and board of directors, who have subsequently sought to hire young females in leadership positions after witnessing my success.
My legal qualifications are a license-en-droit from Cairo University, a Masters in Law (LL.M.) in Banking and Finance Law from SOAS and another LL.M. from Duke Law. I also completed a Bachelor of Art degree in Economics from AUC with a minor in Business Administration.

Mentoring is very important nowadays and poses as a vital element in the business world. I have had mentors all through my career and they have helped me immensely. Accordingly, I would also like to contribute to younger individuals who are having their startups and need guidance through mentors. Also, I look forward to learning about new potential opportunities for investment in various industry segments. Through the program, the exchange of knowledge with fellow participants will provide room for the generation of new ideas and will definitely help me to form new connections that will develop into business opportunities, potential investments and even friendships. I will learn the different modes of mentoring and the best way to aid startups.
