Why I am interested in mentoring: As the Program Coordinator for Orange Corners South Sudan (an RVO-funded initiative), I have spent the last year at the intersection of startup growth and fragile-state resilience. I believe that mentorship is the most critical catalyst for transforming “survivalist” businesses into scalable ventures. My motivation stems from seeing firsthand how targeted professional guidance can help entrepreneurs navigate systemic barriers, secure investment, and create sustainable jobs. Having led three cohorts to graduation and moderated high-level policy dialogues between government and the private sector, I want to give back to the VC4A community by helping founders translate vision into operational reality. My interests and focus areas: My expertise is rooted in Operational Resilience and Strategic Growth in emerging markets. I am particularly interested in mentoring founders who are at the Early-Stage to Growth transition. My core focus areas include:
• Market-Readiness & Scaling: Helping startups bridge the gap between a local pilot and a regional/international scale-up. • Stakeholder Diplomacy & Partnership Building: Guiding entrepreneurs on how to engage with embassies, NGOs, and the private sector, a skill I have honed through my work with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local ministries. • Inclusive Business Models: I am passionate about gender-responsive entrepreneurship; in my recent cohort, I achieved 52% female participation through intentional program design. • Investor Readiness: Preparing founders to meet the rigorous reporting and KPI standards required by international funders and impact investors.
By joining the VC4A mentor network, I aim to provide founders with a global perspective, leveraging my fluency in seven languages and my deep understanding of the RVO/Orange Corners framework to help them succeed in the international market.
My motivation is rooted in the belief that mentorship is the bridge between a startup’s survival and its scalability, especially in emerging markets. Having led the Orange Corners program in South Sudan, I have seen how high-level strategic guidance can transform local founders into investment-ready leaders. I mentor because I am passionate about professionalizing the entrepreneurship journey, specifically helping founders navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, meet international reporting standards (such as RVO/Dutch frameworks), and build gender-inclusive businesses. For me, mentorship is about fostering a global exchange of knowledge that empowers the next generation of innovators to solve local challenges with world-class excellence.
