I want to mentor because I’ve learned most of this the hard way, through trial, error, and outside research rather than from anyone who’d already been through it. I’d like to shorten that path for other African founders, especially technical founders who default to building rather than talking to the market, and founders navigating multi-stakeholder sectors health, fintech, education where government, institutions, and consumers all need something different from the same product.
My focus areas: deep-tech and infrastructure (databases, AI systems), health-tech and regulated-data products, EdTech, and the specific discipline of running several ventures at once without losing rigor on any of them. I’m most useful to founders who want direct, technically-grounded feedback rather than general encouragement.
I’d like to shorten that path for founders coming up behind me, especially technical founders navigating African markets for the first time. Secondly, I genuinely like learning about industries and businesses outside my own, mentoring exposes me to problems and sectors I wouldn’t otherwise touch, which sharpens my own thinking as a venture founder more than reading about them ever could. Third, I’m open to advisor or board-seat opportunities where the fit is right. Building Mediloop has given me a working sense of governance for African startups from data-protection compliance to multi-stakeholder boards and I’d like to put that to use beyond my own company where a founder or investor group wants it.
